With heat warnings blanketing Saskatoon and most of the province Tuesday, there are a number of spots around the city where people can pop in to cool off.
Environment Canada is predicting highs of 32 C and 35 C for Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, in Saskatoon.
The city’s “cool down locations” include Saskatoon library locations, Paved Arts, the Salvation Army, OUTSaskatoon, the Friendship Inn, EGADZ and more.

The city also advised residents to check on family, friends and neighbours who may be struggling during the heat, and to alert emergency services if they see someone in heat-related distress.
Saskatoon’s Safe Bus Program also offers some relief, as anyone in need of immediate shelter can flag down a bus or go to a parked bus. The driver then will contact emergency services and provide a safe place to wait.
While a dip in the river may be tempting, the city reminded residents that swimming in the river is prohibited due to hazards such as changing currents and instability.
Spray parks and paddling pools, however, are open and free.
The city also asked residents to conserve water by watering lawns and gardens early in the morning to minimize water loss from evaporation.
