In its release, the city said detours were put in place immediately and advised drivers to avoid the area.
Businesses in the area were told they may experience low water pressure and that might be noticeable at the tap.
“If needed, affected addresses will be issued a drinking water advisory,” the release said.
Businesses were also asked to avoid heavy water use until further notice, though handwashing and appliance use weren’t restricted.
In a release Wednesday morning, the city said water service has been restored to most businesses in the area and it’s working to restore water to the remaining businesses.
