Rods and reels could be getting a workout in Saskatchewan this weekend.
Saskatchewan’s summer free fishing weekend is slated for Saturday and Sunday in all bodies of water except those in national parks. Anglers won’t need a licence to try their luck, unless they plan on taking fish out of the province.
Angling limits and all other fishing regulations still apply.
“Whether you are new to the sport or an avid angler, Free Fishing Weekend is a great opportunity to pick up a fishing rod,” Environment Minister Dana Skoropad said in a media release. “In Saskatchewan, we are fortunate to have some of the best freshwater fishing in our own backyard.”
Anglers are urged to check the Saskatchewan Anglers Guide before the weekend.
