The Southey RCMP is investigating an alleged sexual assault in Govan.
On the evening of June 9, the Mounties received a report that a preteen child was approached by a man driving a black truck who assaulted the child.
The suspect is described as about 28 to 30 years old and between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10 with a medium build. He has dark brown or black hair and brown eyes with thick, bushy eyebrows. He also has yellowed teeth.
The RCMP is not releasing additional information about the victim.
“We don’t want to cause panic but do want to provide the public information about this incident so that they can take safety precautions and have conversations with young family members about it, as they deem appropriate,” said Sgt. Kim Stewart.
Govan is about 110 kilometres north of Regina.
On Tuesday, the RCMP issued a similar alert regarding another reported sexual assault in Redvers, located 350 kilometres southeast of Govan. The Mounties have yet to identify a suspect in that incident.
