A new airline is offering cheap flights to Saskatoon customers.
The first flight from Swoop, a low-cost carrier owned by WestJet that launched in 2017, landed Tuesday at Saskatoon’s airport.

The Calgary-based airline will offer direct service from Saskatoon to Toronto, Edmonton and Winnipeg, with flights departing twice a week and one-way tickets starting at $59.
“It’s indicating confidence in the Saskatoon market,” said Skyxe president and CEO Stephen Maybury.
“The direct impact is our tourism industry. There are options to visit this beautiful city of Saskatoon as well as the surrounding community. This airport is a gateway to the north.”
The new Saskatoon routes are just the start for Swoop’s services in Saskatchewan, as the carrier will begin service in Regina on Thursday.
Swoop’s service may help fill a gap in Saskatchewan, after Flair Airlines suspended its Regina service at the start of the month.
