The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested and charged a 31-year-old man after a serious collision in Saskatoon on Saturday night.
At around 7:20 p.m, a truck travelling westbound on 21st Street West ran into a five-year-old boy between Avenue K and Avenue L.
The collision resulted in serious injuries for the child with the boy being taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance.
According to the police release, the 31-year-old man was charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and exceeding the legal alcohol limit causing bodily harm.
The child is expected to recover from his injuries.
