Three men who already were behind bars have been arrested again in connection with a murder that occurred in August of 2020.
On Aug. 21 of that year, 20-year-old Wesley Custer arrived at Shellbrook Hospital with serious injuries. After he died, police determined his death was suspicious.
On May 19, 34-year-old Evan Ledoux was arrested on outstanding charges from Prince Albert Police Service and Ahtahkakoop RCMP.
Those comprise charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, assault, and possession of property obtained by crime in connection with an incident at a residence on the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation on May 6.
After speaking with the Crown, police arrested Ledoux on Saturday at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre and charged him with manslaughter in connection with Custer’s death.
On Sunday, 42-year-old Curtis Ledoux was arrested at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre and charged with accessory after the fact to murder in Custer’s death.
An RCMP media release didn’t say why Ledoux was in custody.
Evan Ledoux and Curtis Ledoux both are to appear in court June 6.
Then, on Wednesday, 23-year-old Tyson Lachance was arrested at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre and charged with second-degree murder in connection with Custer’s slaying.
Again, the Mounties didn’t say why Lachance was in custody.
Lachance appeared in court on Thursday.
