8:30 – The candidates hoping to replace Erin O’Toole as Conservative leader squared off last night for the first debate, and traded cutting barbs along the way. Columnist Brian Lilley says the bickering meant that policy took a bit of a backseat, and the candidates came off as small, petty, bitter, and not very appealing to Canadians. Lilley joins John to give his take on the first debate, and the race to replace O’Toole.

12:00 – This Saturday is the last performance for Maestro Eric Paetkau, who’s led the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra for the past seven seasons. He’s chosen Mahler’s fourth symphony for his performance, which he says will be his tribute to his time in Saskatoon. Paetkau joins Gormley to tell us about his time leading the orchestra, and what’s next for him.
