The White Butte RCMP is looking for around 200 kilograms of commercial mining explosives that were stolen from a business in a rural area southeast of Regina.
The Mounties said Wednesday they got the report of the theft Monday at about 5 a.m. They say that sometime between 4 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Sunday, someone broke into the business and took off with the explosives.
The RCMP media release didn’t say what kind of explosives were taken or why there was a delay in reporting the theft to the public.
Anyone with information about the missing explosives is asked to call their local police service or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
The RCMP reminded people that if they find the explosives, they shouldn’t touch them. Police should be called immediately so an Explosives Disposal Unit can be sent out.
