A 30-year-old woman from Warman is dead after a collision Saturday on Highway 12 near Martensville.
According to a release from the RCMP, an officer from the Warman detachment saw an SUV driving erratically on the highway at 9:45 p.m.
The officer turned on their emergency lights to stop the SUV, which took off. The officer lost sight of the SUV, but continued to drive in the direction it had gone.
The officer eventually found the SUV, which had collided with another vehicle. The 30-year-old woman driving that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while her passenger was taken to hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.
The driver of the SUV was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police didn’t release their name or their condition.
The Warman RCMP is continuing to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
