An investigation is underway to determine the cause of an equipment fire at Nutrien’s Vanscoy potash mine on Tuesday evening.
The mine is located about 30 minutes southwest of Saskatoon.
In a brief statement Wednesday, Nutrien spokesperson Megan Fielding said the fire occurred in a “localized area.”
Everyone onsite and underground at the time is back on the surface, and mine operations are being restored.
Fielding said no interruptions to production are expected.
