One more day.
Environment Canada had extreme cold warnings in place for areas of Saskatchewan early Friday, with a wind chill of -41 C in Regina in the morning and a wind chill of -44 C in Saskatoon in the morning.
By Saturday, however, the high in Regina is forecast to be 0 C and the high in Saskatoon is expected to be 1 C.
As for Friday, the wind chills in Regina’s two biggest cities were to drop as the morning progressed. In fact, by 10:30 a.m., the extreme cold warnings were lifted.
The blowing snow advisories issued for many areas of the province on Thursday were removed after a day that saw highways closed and near-misses on others that were open.
As of 4 p.m. Friday, the Highway Hotline said all of the province’s highways had reopened.
However, travel still wasn’t recommended on Highway 39 from Corinne to Yellow Grass, a stretch of Highway 2 north of Chamberlain, Highway 14 west of Wilkie, Highway 15 east and west of Highway 11, and Highway 19 south of Highway 15.
