A Saskatoon police officer was allegedly assaulted after responding to a disturbance at a downtown business on Thursday.
Police received a call around 9 p.m. about a man refusing to leave a licensed business on the 200 block of Second Avenue South.
When officers arrived, they located the suspect walking away from the establishment. He was arrested, but as he was being put into a patrol vehicle, police said he spit in the face of an officer.
A 42-year-old man is facing charges of assaulting a police officer, causing a disturbance, and breach of a court order. He is expected to appear in court on Friday.
