One highway in southern Saskatchewan was closed Friday morning and travel wasn’t recommended on several others.
According to the Highway Hotline, Highway 35 from Weyburn north to the intersection with Highway 306 was closed due to snow drifts, swirling snow and zero visibility.
The weather conditions also caused the Highway Hotline to advise against travel on Highway 9 south from the Trans-Canada Highway to Highway 48, on Highway 47 from the junction with the Trans-Canada to Stoughton, on Highway 48 between White City and Highway 47.
Travel also wasn’t recommended on several highways in the southwest, including Highway 4 south from Swift Current and Highway 21 south from Maple Creek.
More information is available on the Highway Hotline website.
Meanwhile, a blowing snow advisory issued Thursday by Environment Canada remained in place for a number of areas in the southeast.
There’s also a snowfall warning for the Shaunavon-Maple Creek area.
