On Feb. 11 at 8:15 p.m. police were called about a man banging on the door of a residence on Sixth Avenue East, yelling that someone was going to shoot him. In a media release, RCMP said a vehicle had pulled up, where a person exited and forced the man banging on the door into the vehicle before leaving the scene.
Roughly 10-minutes later, RCMP received a call about an injured woman at a residence on Second Street East in Meadow Lake. She had serious injuries including having three fingers cut off of one hand. Then, minutes later, police received a call from another woman needing medical attention at a residence on the nearby Flying Dust First Nation. She too had fingers cut off of one hand.
Officers and local EMS attended and transported the women to hospital for treatment. While conducting the investigation, police identified a suspected vehicle in the incident where the man was forcibly taken.
- Kidnapping while using a prohibited firearm;
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized;
- Using a firearm in commission of an offence;
- Aggravated assault;
- Uttering threats.
Jerrico Lasas is also charged with failure to comply with a probation order, while Campbell also faces possession of a firearm, contrary to a court order. The pair, along with Kayla Lasas, made their first court appearance in Meadow Lake on Monday.
Roy, who’s also charged with failing to comply with a release order, is described as a 24-year-old female, standing 5-4 tall and weighing 130 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes and sports a butterfly tattoo on her right wrist and a mother-holding-child tattoo on her left arm. She may be in Meadow Lake.
