The Saskatchewan Roughriders are adding a towering presence to their receiving group.
Wesley Lewis, 27, has signed a contract with the CFL team. Lewis, who is 6-foot-5 and 218 pounds, was drafted by the Ottawa Redblacks in the fifth round (45th overall) of the 2019 CFL draft.
The national receiver has appeared in 11 career CFL games over the past two seasons, catching three passes for 33 yards. He became a free agent Tuesday.
The Leander, Texas product played five games in his senior season at Angelo State University. He made 13 receptions for 191 yards and two touchdowns.
Before playing at Angelo State, he attended Houston Baptist University. He suited up for 26 games at that school, making 54 catches for 664 yards and five touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the Roughriders lost four more players in free agency.
Defensive lineman Micah Johnson signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, linebackers Deon Lacey and Nakas Onyeka went to the Edmonton Elks, and linebacker Kevin Francis signed with the B.C. Lions.
