12:00 – Saskatchewan children’s book author Kristin Pierce says when she became a mother, she found herself very interested in hunting down children’s cooks with strong and empowering learning messages. She wanted to teach her children just how much wisdom, power, and potential resides within them. It was this desire that prompted her to begin writing herself and launch her own publishing company, Inner Compass Books. She has released seven children’s books that she says encourage children to find their passion, dream big, think outside the box, and believe in themselves, all while trusting their inner feelings. Pierce also does virtual author school visits where she present on topics such as growth mindset, the inner self, and the picture book process. Pierce joins Gormley to tell us more about her work and her most recent book ‘The Word Nerd.’
