The inquest into the death of Samwell Uko, scheduled for later this month, has been postponed.
This was the second date that had been set for the hearing – originally it was supposed to happen in September, but was postponed then because of COVID-19.
Now, the coroner’s service has postponed all inquests because of rising cases of COVID-19, according to the Ministry of Justice. It hasn’t yet been rescheduled.
Uko died in May 2020 by apparent suicide after seeking and not receiving help at the Regina General Hospital. The Saskatchewan Health Authority has apologized for its role in his death.
