Saskatchewan is in a deep freeze for the foreseeable future.
A winter system brought in extreme cold warnings across much of the province Sunday morning.
Even in areas without a warning in place, wind-chills were below the -30 C mark Sunday.
It’s something people will have to get used to, according to Environment Canada meteorologist Shannon Moodie.
“I always like to give an end in sight, and I really can’t at this point. It really looks like we’re going to stick in those extreme cold values, certainly below normal for the foreseeable future, unfortunately,” she said.
In Regina, the forecast doesn’t show a high temperature warmer than -26 C until Saturday. In Saskatoon, it won’t be warmer than -27 C until Saturday.
Moodie took the time to remind people of a few cold weather tips.
“If you’re planning on travelling anywhere, make sure that you have some blankets in your car, jumper cables. If you’re going outside, definitely check the forecast. Check the wind and the temperature before you go out. Dress in layers. Really be cautious of any exposed skin, make sure that it’s covered,” she said.
