The number of new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan decreased slightly Thursday, down seven new cases from Wednesday’s total.
No new deaths were reported for the fifth time in the last six days.
The Ministry of Health reported 55 new cases Thursday, putting the seven-day average of new cases at 56.
Of the 55 new cases, 15 were reported in kids under the age of 12, with 10 cases reported in kids aged five to 11 and five cases reported in people four years old and younger.
One more person is in hospital, upping the total to 106. Two more people were sent to ICU and active cases rose to 544.
A look at the numbers
The new cases were reported in the Saskatoon (21), Regina (17), central-east (seven), northwest (three), north-central (two), central-west (one) and southeast (one) regions. Three cases have pending residence information.
The total comprised 32 people who were unvaccinated and 23 who were considered fully vaccinated. The unvaccinated group included 10 kids aged five to 11.
To date, there have been 82,015 cases reported in Saskatchewan and 80,530 recoveries.
There were 1,785 tests done in Saskatchewan on Wednesday, increasing the total to date to more than 1.3 million.
Vaccination update
The 1,644 vaccinations done in Saskatchewan in the latest reporting period included 963 first shots and 681 second shots.
To date, more than 1.78 million shots have been given in the province, including 846,390 second shots.
The total includes 43,999 jabs for kids between the ages of five and 11, and 76,857 shots for children aged 12 to 17.
