RCMP says two bodies found in vehicle along highway

The Prince Albert RCMP says the deaths of two people who were found in a vehicle along Highway 355 in the RM of Garden River are suspicious.

The bodies were found in the vehicle along the highway between Albertville and Meath Park just before 9 p.m. on Thursday.

The RCMP said more information on the individuals, including their age and sex, will be released in the coming days.

Earlier, the RCMP asked people to avoid the area because of increased police presence.

The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit has taken the lead on the investigation.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity on the highway on Thursday or who has information on the deaths to contact their local police service.
