A 27-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle Sunday on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, near Loon Lake.
The RCMP said officers got a call at about 6:40 p.m., that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle on Highway 699.
The man, a resident of the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Police determined the man was walking at the side of the road when he was hit by a westbound vehicle. The driver stayed at the scene and called for emergency services.
The Loon Lake RCMP and an RCMP traffic reconstructionist are investigating the crash.
Loon Lake is about 170 kilometres north of North Battleford.
