Those hoping for cooperative weather for trick-or-treating are in luck.
Environment Canada meteorologist Eric Dykes says rain or snow is not expected in the province on Halloween night.
“We’re not looking at a lot of precipitation if any across the province over the next 24 to 48 hours,” Dykes said on Saturday.
“We don’t have a lot of precipitation in the forecast, so slips and falls shouldn’t be too much of an issue there as well.”
However, Dykes said evening lows are forecast to be slightly below seasonal.
In Regina, the temperature on Sunday night is expected to be -9 C while in Saskatoon, the temperature is forecast at -10 C.
“So more than likely, (you’re) going to have a jacket on. If you can, underneath the costume. But over top and maybe just every once in a while, take the jacket off as you approach the doorway perhaps,” Dykes said.
As the sun sets at about 5:30 p.m. each day, Dykes also urged people to be cautious, with trick-or-treaters walking from house to house.
“Even though the weather will be rather benign … there’s going to be people out walking, lots of traffic and so forth. So if you have some reflective material on you or at home. Put it on the little kids so cars can see them, and people can see it.”
