This weekend, some of the world’s toughest cowboys will be at Saskatoon’s SaskTel Centre for the Professional Bull Riding (PBR) Canada Cup.
Just like the Eric Church concert this past weekend at SaskTel Centre, proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test are required to get in.
At the concert on Saturday, some people reportedly got through without having to show proof of vaccination. SaskTel Centre executive director Scott Ford says that won’t happen this time.
“All the fans coming to the event must have proof of vaccination or a negative test. We will be checking everybody coming into the building,” he said.
After the Church concert, there were many pictures of fans in the stands not wearing their masks. Ford says it will be a lot easier to police the mask mandate at the PBR.
“The lights are on. You have full sports lighting and you can see everybody a little bit easier than a concert where they have blackout conditions,” he said.
“The only time they can take their masks off is when they’re in their seated section enjoying their food and beverages. All other times while they are moving around, they must wear their masks.
The event is expected to bring in more than 10,000 over the two-night performance Friday and Saturday. The bull riding is to begin both nights at 7 p.m.
