8:30 – A multi-year investigation by Blacklock’s Reporter found Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation compiled personal records on nearly nine million mortgage holders, including those with non-CMHC insured home loans, without the borrowers’ informed consent. The data compiled includes personal income, address, credit scores, and even household debt. CMHC says they use this data to gain industry insights and provide data to builders, economists, and lenders. Managing Editor Tom Korski joins Gormley to share the details.

10:00 – All signs point to Albertans voting “yes” on the referendum on equalization, though the results are not yet finalized. During Monday’s elections, Albertans were given the chance to vote on the question: “Should section 36(2) of the Constitution Act, 1982 — Parliament and the government of Canada’s commitment to the principle of making equalization payments — be removed from the constitution?” Writing in The Line, Jen Gerson argues that Alberta and Quebec may seem like arch-enemies, but the reality is they’re very similar in their feelings of isolation within Canada and desire for greater independence. Gerson joins Gormley to share her thoughts on the referendum.

11:00 – An Ontario criminal case is going to a new trial in the first major test of Canada’s self-defense law, which requires an accused to have a reasonable belief that they faced a threat of force, acted to defend themselves, and that their actions were reasonable under the circumstances. In the Ontario case, a man shot and killed a man who was allegedly trying to steal his truck, claiming that a weapon he’d left in the vehicle could be used in a break-in and present significant danger to him and his family. 11:30 – The eight-week trial of Greg Fertuck, who’s accused of first-degree murder in the death of his estranged wife Sheree in 2015, continues this week with the testimony of officers who involved Fertuck in a fake criminal organization in order to extract a confession. 12:00 – Lampman author Maureen Ulrich has just released the fourth and final chapter in her Jessie Mac hockey series, which is set in Saskatchewan and incorporates real-life players, coaches, and results from the history of the U of S Huskies hockey program, adding a real-world feel around the fictional elements.
