A search effort involving community members, Big River RCMP, Ministry of Environment conservation officers and the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association is actively underway in northwestern Saskatchewan.
On Tuesday, a man and a woman went canoeing on Long Whitefish Lake, about two hours northeast of North Battleford.
When the couple didn’t return, their family contacted police. The RCMP confirmed it received a call at approximately 8:20 p.m. that day.
The canoe has been recovered.
