The last time William Shatner experienced space, it was aboard the fictional spacecraft, Starship Enterprise as Captain Kirk.
The 90-year-old Canadian actor got to experience the real thing on Wednesday morning when he and three others blasted off aboard the Blue Origin over the West Texas desert.
The up-and-down flight lasted about 10 minutes and included a brief period of zero gavity with Shatner and his three fellow passengers parachuting back to Earth in the capsule.
Afterward, Shatner was very thankful to Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos.
“What you have given me is the most profound experience I can imagine,” Shattner said. “I’m so filled with emotion about what happened. It’s extraordinary.”
The Star Trek hero is the oldest person to travel to space.
