For the second time in as many weeks, the levels of COVID-19 in Saskatoon’s wastewater has dropped.
Last week, they fell about 16 per cent, while data from the University of Saskatchewan’s analysis shows a current 76 per cent decrease.
North Battleford saw a 145 per cent increase last week, this week it’s down 67 per cent.
Numbers for Prince Albert weren’t available last week, but this week show a decrease of 41 per cent.
Levels of the COVID-19 virus however remain much higher than they were last spring and for much of the summer.
Each week, researchers from the University of Saskatchewan’s wastewater analysis team takes three samples and averages them out. The wastewater is monitored to provide early warning of potential outbreaks.
