Saskatoon Public Schools is joining a growing list of organizations requiring proof of vaccination.
The new rules were shared with staff on Wednesday and made public the following day.
“This administrative procedure will require all staff members to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or provide regular negative test results. The decision was made by the division’s administration and is supported by the Board of Trustees,” read a release.
Details of the administrative procedure are being finalized and more information will be available in the near future.
“As educators, we teach the facts in our classrooms,” the division’s release read. “When it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine, the scientific evidence showing its effectiveness is unequivocal.”
The new policy mirrors the one announced by Regina Public Schools earlier in the week.
Both school divisions did not indicate when the policy would come into effect.
