The Saskatchewan Health Authority is warning of an increased risk of exposure to COVID-19 at a Nipawin Hawks home game last Friday.
The SJHL team played host to the Melfort Mustangs in a pre-season game at Centennial Arena. The SHA said at least one person who was infectious attended the game between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Everyone who has received their second dose of a COVID vaccine before Aug. 27 is urged by the health authority to self-monitor for symptoms until Sept. 24. If symptoms develop, they’re advised to self-isolate and get a COVID test.
The SHA said people who aren’t fully vaccinated should immediately self-isolate until Sept. 24 and get tested for COVID immediately and again next Monday.
“Self-isolation means you need to stay home, avoid contact with anyone who is not fully vaccinated … and stay away from work, school, stores, social events and any other public setting,” the SHA said.
“Call HealthLine 811, your physician or nurse practitioner if you develop symptoms; you may develop symptoms from two to 14 days following exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19.”
