People looking to get a negative COVID-19 test in a hurry from the Saskatchewan Health Authority may be out of luck.
The Ministry of Health and the SHA announced Tuesday that testing will be prioritized, with the tests of symptomatic residents getting processed first.
According to the government, the move is being done “in order to support contact investigations and preventing further transmission.”
As a result, people who are seeking asymptomatic testing so they can travel or get into events may not get their results within a specified timeframe.
That could pose a problem for people looking to get a negative test result from the SHA before Friday’s Toronto Argonauts-Saskatchewan Roughriders’ game at Mosaic Stadium.
Proof of vaccination or proof of a negative test is required to get into the stadium for the CFL game.
“If you require a negative test due to being unvaccinated/only partially vaccinated, private lab services are available as an option for asymptomatic testing,” the government said in a media release. “Residents and businesses who are interested can learn more by searching ‘private labs offering COVID-19 testing in Saskatchewan.’ ”
