The Liberal candidate for Regina-Wascana in the upcoming federal election says his team faced harassment and intimidation while knocking on doors.
In an open letter shared on Twitter, Sean McEachern says he and a volunteer experienced this from somebody with a Conservative lawn sign on their property.
“They followed us from their property to my car, where they blocked us from leaving, and then then (sic) threw dog feces on the windshield,” McEachern says.
“Between the verbal harassment, threats, and physical intimidation, we ended up calling police.”

McEachern says he was disappointed but not surprised by the incident, saying polarization is a growing problem in the country.
“I don’t have a solution to this problem, but I can’t let this experience pass by without expressing my disappointment,” he wrote. “There is room for disagreement and debate in our democracy, but not harassment.”
McEachern says most people he’s met have been respectful and vowed the incident will not stop his campaign.
