Three people died in a pair of collisions on Saskatchewan roads over the long weekend.
On Sunday, two people died after a truck and a side-by-side collided on a road on the Big River First Nation. On Friday, a 58-year-old man from Regina was killed in a collision on Highway 16 east of Insinger.
RCMP officers responded to Sunday’s collision at around 1:40 a.m.
The side-by-side’s driver, a 50-year-old man, and his passenger, a 42-year-old man, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both men were from the Big River First Nation.
The driver and passenger of the truck were taken to hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
The truck’s driver, a 40-year-old woman from the Big River First Nation, was charged with two counts of impaired driving causing death and one count of operating a vehicle while prohibited.
On Friday, officers were called at about 11 a.m., to the scene of a collision on the Yellowhead Highway between an SUV and a semi.
The male passenger of the SUV died at the scene. The 32-year-old woman who was driving the SUV was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The male driver of the semi wasn’t injured.
