A 26-year-old man from the hamlet of Moose Range is in police custody after a Nipawin RCMP officer located a stash of drugs, guns and ammunition in the man’s vehicle during a traffic stop.
According to the Mounties, the officer pulled over a vehicle in Nipawin on Saturday at about 3:45 a.m. After noticing shotgun shells in the centre console of the vehicle, the officer conducted a search.
That search turned up about 106 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 12 grams of suspected fentanyl, drug-related paraphernalia, two guns with suppressors attached, one modified gun, multiple loaded magazines and multiple rounds of ammunition.
The driver is facing 14 weapons-related charges and two drug trafficking charges. He’s to appear in court Wednesday.
