The temperatures are back to normal in Saskatchewan.
The province endured a blistering heat wave for days, even breaking 34 different heat records Friday.
Now, however, the weather has returned to normal for this time of year.
High temperatures to start the week off in Regina and Saskatoon are both below 25 C.
Brad Vrolijk, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, explained why.
“Many people will notice that it’s quite a bit drier than it was the past couple of days. That break from humidity and slightly cooler highs were enough to bring the heat warning to an end,” he explained.
“It’s part of a larger trend where we’re going to see an arctic high push into the prairies, and we’re going to see temperatures drop quite a bit in the next few days.”
Conditions are dry across the province, and it doesn’t appear that farmers and others who rely on moisture will be getting much relief soon.
“There will be a system moving across southern Saskatchewan (Sunday) that will bring widespread, scattered showers, but not really expecting any significant amount along the Trans-Canada Highway,” he said.
The Saskatoon area will see about five millimetres, or about 0.2 inches, of rain Sunday night.
This weekend, one community did see significant rain.
Kindersley was drenched with around 70 mm, or more than 2.7 inches, in about 30 minutes.
