Stashing some liquor and a gun under a child’s seat didn’t help one woman avoid arrest near Stanley Mission.
According to the RCMP, officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 915 on Saturday at about 11:30 p.m. They saw alcohol in plain sight, so they searched the vehicle, which was carrying four adults and a child.
The officers found and seized 19 66-ounce bottles of whiskey, four 66-ounce bottles of vodka, 10 two-litre bottles of cider and an unloaded gun. Some of the liquor and the gun were hidden under the child’s seat.
A woman from Stanley Mission was charged with one count each of unsafe storage of a firearm and unlawful possession of beverage alcohol.
The Mounties said it was the fifth charge of unlawful possession of beverage alcohol charge laid by officers from the Stanley Mission detachment this year.
