The province is reporting 180 new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan Saturday, along with two new deaths.
According to the Ministry of Health, one death was reported in the 50 to 59 age group and one death was in the 80-plus age group. Both are from the south-central zone. In total, 526 people have died due to COVID-19.
The new cases are located in the following zones: far northwest (two), far northeast (one) northwest (22), north-central (23), northeast (six) Saskatoon (54) central-west (four), central-east (17), Regina (19), southwest (nine), south-central (one) and southeast (18).
Four cases are without hometown information.
An additional 184 recoveries were reported for a total of 43,194; 1,770 cases are considered active.
There are 120 people in hospital across the province, 93 of which are receiving inpatient care and 27 people are in intensive care.
People are receiving inpatient care in the northwest (five), north-central (five), Saskatoon (34), central-east (four), Regina (38), southwest (one), south-central (two), and southeast (four) zones. Twenty-seven people are in intensive care in the north-central (two), Saskatoon (11) and Regina (14) zones.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 160, or 13.1 new cases per 100,000 population.
Vaccinations
An additional 14,801 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given in Saskatchewan Friday, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 645,384.
The 14,801 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported Saturday were administered to people in the following areas: far northwest (150), far north-central (one), far northeast (150) northwest (748), north-central (1042), northeast (453) Saskatoon (4,665), central-west (510), central-east (1,148), Regina (3,889), southwest (501), south-central (679) and southeast (650).
There were 215 doses administered without hometown information.
Second dose vaccinations are underway for anyone who is 85 and older or who received their first dose before February 15. On Monday, eligibility will expand to anyone 80 and older or those who received their first dose before March 1.
