The Toronto Argonauts signed Canadian offensive lineman Peter Nicastro on Tuesday.
Toronto selected the six-foot-two, 305-pound Nicastro in the first round, seventh overall, in the 2021 CFL draft. Nicastro spent three seasons at the University of Calgary (2017-19), helping the Dinos capture the Vanier Cup in 2019.
The Calgary native appeared in 20 career games with the Dinos.
Toronto also released American offensive lineman Norman Price and Canadian linebacker Paul Kozachuk.
STAMPS SIGN FOUR PICKS
CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders signed four players selected in the 2021 CFL draft, including second-round pick Bryce Bell.
The six-foot-four, 290-pound Bell played collegiately at Wilfrid Laurier. The native of Waterloo, Ont., appeared in 26 career games over four seasons with the Golden Hawks.
The Stampeders also signed Calgary linebacker Charlie Moore (third round), U.B.C. linebacker Elliot Graham (fourth round) and York receiver Luther Hakunavanhu (fifth round).
