Saskatoon police have arrested a man who allegedly assaulted two city workers.
On Wednesday at about 8:20 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of 20th Street East and First Avenue South near Midtown for a report of an assault in progress.
Three workers were fixing potholes at that location when someone threw a shovel at one of them. When another of the workers stepped in, the suspect hit that individual with a skateboard and then took off.
Two workers were taken to hospital and treated for minor head injuries.
On Thursday at about 7:45 a.m., police were called to 115th Street West and Central Avenue. A person there said they saw the suspect in the assault kicking a city bus.
Officers found the suspect skateboarding in the 100 block of Imperial Street and arrested him. The 29-year-old faces two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of mischief under $5,000.
