Regina’s drive-through COVID-19 vaccination clinic is hitting the brakes.
In a media release Friday afternoon, the Saskatchewan Health Authority said the facility at Evraz Place would use up its allotment of Pfizer vaccine by the end of the day and “will temporarily close to public at that time.”
The clinic closes at 11 p.m., or when all of its doses are gone. It was accepting patients between the ages of 46 and 54 on Friday.
As well, the SHA reported the Swift Current drive-through for those aged 48 to 54 had gone through its allotment of vaccine doses and had closed.
The authority said the clinics would reopen when more doses arrive in the province. It didn’t say when that would happen.
Meanwhile, drive-through and walk-in clinics in other centres for people between the ages of 48 and 54 only will continue through the weekend and into next week.
The Saskatoon drive-through at Prairieland Park is to be open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., while the drive-through at 750 Lillooet St. W in Moose Jaw is open Friday until 7 p.m.
A drive-through at Thorpe’s Industry in Prince Albert is to run Friday through Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., one at the Exhibition Grounds in Lloydminster is to be open Saturday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and one at 391 Yellowhead Alley in North Battleford is to operate Friday and Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
A walk-in clinic is operating Friday in Weyburn (10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Weyburn Curling Rink), and there are walk-ins set for Kindersley (Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., 904 9th Ave. W), Melville (Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Melville Horizon Credit Union) and Moose Jaw (Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., 250 Thatcher Dr.).
