10:00 – We’re all aware of the acute effects of COVID-19, but according to Dr. Lewis Kaplan, the virus is causing long-term harm in ways that haven’t yet been addressed. Kaplan says we need to do more for those who suffer long-term effects from COVID, who aren’t acutely sick but still aren’t ready to rejoin the workforce. Kaplan says we should also be aware of the negative effects someone can suffer after a stay in the ICU, including diminished cognitive function, physical weakness, and disordered social relationships. Kaplan joins Gormley to tell us more.
