DeShaun Watson a few weeks ago was the biggest story in the NFL for the typical reasons.
He wanted a trade. He was done in Houston. He had no faith in the organization.
Now he’s the biggest story in the NFL with a lawyer piling up civil lawsuits by the day. Three to five to 10 to … well, I’ve lost count.
Watson is a star quarterback in whom many teams were likely interested. Now, it’s on hold because of accusations of misconduct and sexual assault on multiple masseuses.
Watson is denying everything. The lawyer came first for a money settlement before starting to file the civil cases. And remember, right now these are civil suits, not criminal. There has never been a police report filed against Watson up to this point.
The NFL has finally conceded to investigate but it’s a story being watched closely because of the lawyer’s original conduct and the timing coming at the same time Watson was requesting out of town.
But what’s crazy is there are teams still interested, even before these cases get settled. Huh? Once again, teams don’t care about alleged victims. They just want a quarterback.
