This summer, Air Canada will begin offering direct flights from Regina to Montreal.
James Bogusz, the CEO of the Regina Airport Authority, said the flights will depart daily starting June 26.
“Air Canada, prior to the pandemic, has really been building up Montreal as a secondary hub to Toronto,” Bogusz said Friday during the Greg Morgan Morning Show.
“They’ve seen a lot of great success with that in recent years and we’ve been marketing to them to consider Montreal … It’s really nice to see them looking to try this this year.”
While the route is direct from Regina to Montreal, Bogusz said the return flight will connect through Saskatoon.
“The cool thing about that is for residents who want to either stay in Saskatoon, or perhaps you need a flight between Saskatoon and Regina. This actually provides daily service for that as well,” he said.
“They call it a triangle route.”
