One of my family’s favorite take out meal is Beef & Broccoli. The wife and
I love experimenting in the kitchen and we stumbled upon an easy recipe that
the entire family loves. Yes, the kids love to eat broccoli because of this
recipe.
First season the beef with ground black pepper. In a small bowl, mix
together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. Set aside.
In a large skillet over high heat, warm 1/2 tablespoon of the sesame oil.
Add the beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat its about
cooked through. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
Next add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil to the skillet, add
onions and cook until they are softened.
Add drained blanched broccoli and cook for 1 minute. Then add the soy sauce
& brown sugar mixture that you made earlier, stir to coat.
Return beef to skillet that you sat aside earlier and continue to cook until
the beef is cooked through and the sauce has reduced slightly. Grab you a
bowl of rice and spoon in some Beef & Broccoli, guess what, it’s eatin
time!!!
