The number of active COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan has fallen to its lowest level since Remembrance Day.
In a media release Thursday, the Ministry of Health said there were 169 new cases, 168 more recoveries and two new deaths due to COVID to report.
Those totals — along with the subtraction of eight out-of-province cases — dropped the active caseload to 1,422. It hasn’t been that low since it was 1,363 on Nov. 11.
To date, there have been 29,220 cases, 27,407 recoveries and 391 deaths.
The government also said nearly 2,500 COVID-19 vaccinations were done in Saskatchewan on Wednesday, and shipments of more than 7,000 new doses arrived in the province.
The ministry said there were 2,493 shots given — 1,141 in the Regina region, 951 in the Saskatoon area, 188 in the southeast zone, 174 in the central-east area, 12 in the north-central zone, 11 in the far northeast, 10 in the northeast and six in the northwest.
The total number of vaccinations done in Saskatchewan so far rose to 84,090.
Shipments of the Pfizer vaccine arrived in Prince Albert (4,680) and North Battleford (2,340) and clinics began Thursday.
