Students at a Saskatoon elementary school are heading back to class after a week of learning from home.
Classes at Bishop Klein School on Northumberland Avenue will start again Monday after multiple water main breaks last week forced the school’s doors to close.
During the week, classes switched to online learning for students, according to a release from the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School division.
That’s not the end of issues with the water at the facility, however. A drinking water advisory has been issued for the school, which has the division encouraging students to bring their own water bottles full of drinking water. Drinking water will also be available to the students at the school.
Several water main breaks caused the service shut down for the school and surrounding area.
The city’s water and waste operations department said water was expected to return to the area at the end of the day Wednesday, but four additional breaks were identified.
