For the second straight day, three new deaths were reported, bringing the provincial total to 368.
Of the people who died, one was a person in the 80 plus age group from the north-central zone, one death was reported in 60 to 69 age group from the Regina zone and one death was reported in the 70 to 79 age group from the southeast zone.
The new cases are located in the far northwest (16), far north-central (12), far northeast (10), northwest (14), north-central (eight), northeast (three), Saskatoon (26), central-west (three), central-east (four), Regina (78), southwest (one), south-central (five) and southeast (nine) zones. There are also four cases that are pending residence information with six cases. The location was discovered for six previously reported cases, which were assigned to the far northeast (one), northwest (two) and north-central (three) zones.
There are 171 people in hospitals with COVID-19 throughout the province including 155 people that are receiving inpatient care in the far northwest (five), far north-central (two), far northeast (two), northwest (15), north-central (13), northeast (two), Saskatoon (59), central-west (one), central-east (eight), Regina (43), south-central (one) and southeast (four) areas.
Out of those 171 people in hospital, 16 are in intensive care fighting the coronavirus in the north-west (one), north-central (two), Saskatoon (nine), central-east (one), and Regina (three) zones.
On Saturday, there were 170 new recoveries from COVID-19 announced. This brought the provincial total to 25,468 recoveries to date.
There are 1,602 active cases of COVID-19 throughout the province.
Vaccine Update
There were 4,233 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered Friday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 57,824.
The 4,233 doses were administered in the far northwest (29), far northeast (20), far north-central (21), northeast (65), north-central (11), northwest (886), central-east (1,379), south-central (466), Regina (838) and Saskatoon (518) zones.
The far northwest zone has reported an additional 11 doses that were administered on Thursday and the south-central zone reported an additional 550 doses administered on Thursday as well.
“Note that we remain in Phase One of vaccine delivery, targeting residents and staff of long-term and personal-care homes, identified health care providers, residents 70 years and older and residents aged 50 and older in remote/Northern Saskatchewan,” the release by the ministry read. “Eligible populations will be contacted directly to receive their vaccinations. Registration for appointments for Phase Two sequenced populations will be available when Phase Two commences, please do not contact HealthLine 811 to register for vaccinations at this time.”
