For the second straight day, Saskatchewan saw 146 new cases of COVID-19 reported.
There were three new deaths reported, bringing the total to 365.
The Ministry of Health’s daily update also reported 77 recoveries. Active cases increased by 66 for a total of 1,582, up from 1,516 Thursday.
The new cases reported are located in the far northwest (13), far north-central (one), far northeast (nine), northwest (16), north-central (26), northeast (two), Saskatoon (32), central-east (11), Regina (30), southwest (one), south-central (one) and southeast (four) zones. Two cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Regina zone (one from Feb. 13 and one from Feb. 14).
The deaths were one person in their 50s from the northwest zone, one person from the 70 to 79 age group in the south-central zone and one person in the 80-and-over group in Regina.
The seven-day average of daily new cases has dropped to 157, or 12.8 per 100,000 population.
Saskatchewan now has had 27,245 cases since the pandemic began.
The recoveries reported on Friday increased that total to date to 25,298.
The number of hospitalizations in the province dropped to 172.
Nineteen people are in intensive care, with 11 in the Saskatoon area, four in the Regina region, two in the north-central area, one in the northwest and one in the central-east region.
There were 2,724 tests processed Wednesday, increasing the total to date to 554, 007.
Vaccination update
Health-care professionals administered 2,403 vaccine doses in Saskatchewan on Thursday, increasing the total to 53,030.
The 2,403 doses were administered in the far northwest (33), far northeast (40), far north-central (11), northwest (17), central east (1,014), Regina (832) and Saskatoon (456). The central-west zone has reported an additional 33 doses administered on Feb. 8. The far northwest zone has reported an additional 10 doses administered on Feb. 16 and an additional 31 doses on Feb. 17. The far north-central zone has reported an additional 10 doses administered on Feb. 17. The south-central zone has reported an additional 78 doses administered on Feb. 17.
The province said with more Pfizer vaccine shipments arriving, Phase 1 clinics will resume Friday and run throughout the weekend.
