A Regina man has been fined after not self-isolating despite testing positive for COVID-19.
Police say officers attended a domestic conflict call just after midnight on Feb. 11. Officers were told one of the people involved in a loud argument was a confirmed COVID-19 positive person and should be self-isolating.
Police put on personal protective equipment and escorted the 47-year-old man to his home on the 1200 block of McTavish Street. Police said the man was extremely agitated and appeared to be intoxicated so officers did not issue him a ticket at that time.
On Feb. 18, officers went back to the man’s home and advised him he would be getting a ticket for failing to self-isolate. He was given a $2,800 ticket.
This is the 25th ticket issued by the Regina Police Service for COVID-19 related offences.
