Two separate incidents will force Evraz to pay $935,000 in fines.
On Feb. 9, Evraz pleaded guilty in Regina Provincial Court to violating occupational health and safety regulations.
One of the charges stemmed from an incident from Jan. 24, 2019, at the Evraz plant in Regina. The news release states a worker was rolling a pipe and slipped on ice and snow. The person was pinned between the pipe and a steel plate of a conveyor, which resulted in serious injuries.

Another incident occurred just a couple of weeks later on Feb. 6, 2019, at the Evraz plant in Regina. A worker was attempting to put out a grease fire on a machine, and the machine moved which caused serious injuries to the employee.
There was another charge from this incident but it was withdrawn.
